Our members

A particular characteristic of EuropeanIssuers is its dual membership, comprising membership by national organizations as well as direct membership by companies. The dual membership is widely regarded as an asset. It enables us to take both national views as well as the European perspective of companies into account.

We bring together some 48 listed companies and 16 national associations from as many countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

The total market capitalisation of the more than 12.500 listed companies in the European Union (plus Switzerland) can be estimated at about € 12.500 billion (figures Q4 2007). The markets represented through our national association members count some 9.200 issuing companies for a combined value of about € 8.500 billion or more than two third of the global number and global value. Most of the national associations that are a member of EuropeanIssuers cover 90 % of their national market.

Any company of which the securities are publicly traded in Europe can become a member of EuropeanIssuers independent of the sector to which it belongs. Some of our member companies are active in industries like pharmaceuticals, chemicals, energy, nutrition and environmental technologies to name but a few. In addition, there are services oriented companies, such as financial institutions and insurance companies, but also ICT and telecommunication firms, publishers, holdings, etc. From a geographical point of view, we welcome any issuing company or national association established in Europe. There is no threshold or limit on size: issuers have many common concerns whether their market capitalisation amounts to € hundred million or a dozen billion.
